The Future Story of Montgomery Baptist Association

Guiding Principle #1
THE GOSPEL IS FOR PEOPLE EVERYWHERE
Every person, regardless of race, class, education or social status deserves to hear the gospel in a context understandable to them, with an opportunity to respond to the grace of God expressed in Jesus Christ.
Our cultural constructs often hinder our ability to share the gospel with people who are different. We often seek to convert them to our culture (e.g. middle class family values) instead of to Christ where they can be uniquely who God created them to be.
To discover hindrances to our effectiveness in sharing Christ, we must first prayerfully look inward in serious self-examination, reflection, and repentance.

ISSUES AFFECTING MONTGOMEY AND SURROUNDING AREAS Crime Poverty Race Schools Misused affluence and consumer mentality religion
MBA adopted these guiding thoughts for all that we do as churches in Montgomery at the October 2008 annual meeting.
As we begin 2009, we as churches are committing to being intentional about helping Christians live out the Biblical Mandate in scripture to share the good news in tangible ways as well as through our words. Happy New Year 2009

II Corinthans 9:8
"And God is able to make all grace abound to you so that in all things, at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work".
May 2009 bring even more generosity and love to the people of our city through churches and individuals commiting to interntionally share Christ in whatever ways it takes to bring others to Him.
Peace along the way,
Lisa Rose,
